Would you come “walk to water” in recognition of, and raising money for, the persecuted church in Nigeria. We will also take the opportunity to be a visible presence in the Pheasant avenue street that we have chosen as our immediate mission field. This is a whole church family activity with options for everyone, culminating in a Brunch at the Logan River Parklands at 9 am. If you would like to raise funds, you can still collect a sponsorship form and receipts from Katie Davis after the service on Sunday Morning. If not, you can still join us for the walk and brunch. Monday 2nd October (Public holiday) Walk to Water Options. (There is one that will suit you) 7am – 10km people start running from the church building 7:30am – 5km people start walking from the church building 8:00am – 2km people start walking from the church building 8:20am – 800 m people start walking from the church building 8:40-8:45am – Everyone finishes 9:00am – Picnic Brunch together On the day everyone brings own meat (bacon/eggs) and bread. Leave your food at the church building when you arrive. Paul Carroll will bring all the meat to Logan River Parkland at about 8:15. We will have cooks standing by. This is a great way to gather over something very important, the plight of the persecuted church around the world. The Shed for Men invites you to hear Warren Crank speak to the topic: God in the locker-room at a special breakfast meeting at the church on Saturday, 14 October from 8:00 a.m. Cost is $10 per person. Warren Crank grew up on a dairy farm I Maleny. After joining the bank, he was transferred to many rural and remote towns as part of his work. He met his wife in Sydney and they have three sons. Warren will share his expertise of chaplaincy with the North Queensland Cowboys and North Devils Rugby Leagues Club. He will be chaplain for the Brisbane Broncos at the end of this season. Church Camp 2017 – Registration Form Church Camp 2017 – Info Brochure It’s been so long since we’ve had a whole church Family Camp. But the time has come! Hosanna Farm Stays is a location that gives us the space and facilities to all get together at a more affordable cost than more ‘premier’ venues. Just out of Murwillumbah, and about 1 1/2 hours’ drive from our church, it is a lovely peaceful, rural setting with a quiet stream running through – and we have it all to ourselves! S.O.AP. If you would like to grow in the your walk with the Lord by reading His work, reflecting on what He is saying to you and praying with women who also desire this, then come and join our S.O.A.P. Group. (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer group for women.) We meet Saturday mornings at the Edge Cafe, George Street, Beenleigh from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The women who attend have been really encouraged and it often suits busy women. All are welcome.
